Founded by young people

Station Europe was founded in April 2020 in Costești, Romania, by Alin Gramescu and Elena Gramescu, starting from their experience of growing up and working in communities where opportunities were limited.

Both Alin and Elena benefited from European opportunities after Romania joined the European Union. Between 2017 and 2019, Alin took part in several study visits in Brussels, a city that shaped his decision to empower young people to bring useful ideas to life. The idea came to him there, in front of a building called “Station Europe”, with the intention to build something that would last over time.

The decision to start Station Europe in their hometown, Costești, came from the intention to support the local community and the young people growing up there. Station Europe is the only organisation of this kind in the area. It also reflects their belief that change starts locally.
